A NEW micropub business intending to open soon in Little Sutton has secured a short-term licence for the August bank holiday weekend so it can give customers "a little taste of what we have on offer".

The Crafty Tavern Ltd has obtained a temporary events licence allowing it to sell alcohol for off-site consumption through takeaway or delivery.

The business submitted a change of use application back in May to turn 335 Chester Road into a micropub.

The premises was previously occupied by Full House Furniture, who have continued trading online.

The Crafty Tavern Facebook page states that the micropub will offer craft beer, wine and spirits in "our small cozy bar" or for customers to take away and enjoy at home.

There will be no live music or fruit machines – just a place for people to come and sit with their friends, or on their own, and have a quiet drink.

In an update to customers last night, the business posted: "So a little bit of exciting news, we have obtained a temporary events licence for the bank holiday weekend.

"This means we are able to sell alcohol for off site consumption so we will be open below at the following times for sales of many different craft and continental beers.

"So come along and get yourself some beers and ales for the bank holiday – we will have lots on offer, I will be putting a list up very soon and this will be added to before the Bank Holiday.

"We hope to give you a little taste of what we have on offer, we will have a couple of draught beers on that can be taken away in growlers.

"We can't wait for this pre-opening event and look forward to welcoming you."

  • Saturday, August 28, 2pm to 5pm
