A MAN from Chester caught producing cannabis has been jailed.
Viet Thuy Nguyen, 38, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to producing the class B drug when he appeared at Chester Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on Friday, July 23.
The court heard the offence dated back to June 12, and involved a number of cannabis plants.
Judge Simon Berkson jailed Nguyen for 12 months.
The plants and equipment were to be forfeited and destroyed, and Nguyen must pay a £190 victim surcharge upon his release from custody.
