TWO lanes are currently closed on the M56 after a crash this afternoon, Wednesday.
The accident occurred on the eastbound carriageway between junction 10 for Stretton and junction nine for the Lymm Interchange.
It involves a lorry and a van.
Traffic reports state that traffic is heavy in the area, stretching back five miles past junction 12 for Runcorn.

Delays are up to an hour, with motorists advised to find alternative routes.
Traffic officers from Highways England and North West Motorway Police are currently at scene.
Recovery is also on its way to the area to assist.
