CHESTER'S Sandy Lane Aqua Park has reopened.
The park has been closed throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
During this time, the council has undertaken some facility upgrade work which has now been completed.
The park reopened at 11am today (Monday, July 26).
Councillor Matt Bryan, Cheshire West and Chester Council’s cabinet member for planning, housing and the climate emergency, said: “It’s good news that Sandy Lane Aqua Park will be open for the remainder of the school summer holidays, especially if the current good weather is set to continue.
“However, please stay safe if you visit the Aqua Park.
"Covid-19 infection rates in the borough are still high and we ask everyone living, working and visiting the borough to please go above and beyond the minimum guidance required, despite the recent easing of restrictions in England. Signage at the site will help to advise visitors.”
It is planned that the facility will be open for the remainder of the season daily from 11am to 5pm up to Sunday 5 September 2021 but the Council may need to close the facility at short notice during this time for maintenance on the new systems if needed. It will then close for the season and re-open again in April 2022.
