A PAIR of thieves stole £1,500 worth of goods in three separate visits to the same store in Handforth.

Sarah Boardman and Natalie Graham worked together to steal the items from Next during a week long campaign at the beginning of last year.

Both women were appearing at Stockport Magistrates Court on Wednesday, July 21, to be sentenced, having pleaded guilty when appearing at the same court on October 19 last year.

The duo first teamed up to steal £500 worth of homeware and clothing on January 31 2020 before returning to the Handforth Dean store on February 5 where they took similar items worth £600.

Just two days later, 35-year-old Boardman and Graham, 34, completed their hattrick of visits to the store, this time plundering goods with a value of £400.

Boardman, of Bailey Walk in Bowden, Altrincham, also pleaded guilty to stealing food items from M&S in Handforth worth around £150 on December 9 2019.

Taking her guilty pleas into account, Magistrates handed Boardman a community order, which includes a night time curfew to be served at her home address between the hours of 9pm and 6am for a period of ten weeks. She must also complete ten days of rehabilitation with the probation service.

She was also made to pay £650 compensation to Next and £100 to M&S while she must also pay a surcharge of £95 to victim services and Crown Prosecution costs of £85.

Graham, of Catterick Avenue in Sale will serve the same ten week curfew as her co-defendant and pay £650 compensation to Next as well a £90 surcharge and £85 in costs.
