RESIDENTS were evacuated as firefighters tackled a blaze in Cheshire for hours last night.
Four fire engines attended Linnards Lane, Wincham, Northwich, just before 10pm following reports of a fire in the open.
On arrival, an outbuilding was found well alight, which is understood to be a shed.
One social media user said that they could see there was a fire from Mow Cop.
There were no reports of any injuries.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the fire.
"Six cylinders were involved in the fire and were cooled down by the crews.
"The scene was then damped down and a thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots.
"Once safe to do so, residents were allowed back into neighbouring properties.
"The crews were in attendance for around four hours."
