A SITE manager overseeing the building of new homes at a development in Ellesmere Port has bagged another award.

Ian Palmer, 33, is celebrating winning a fourth consecutive Quality award from the National House Building Council (NHBC).

The Anwyl Homes site manager is based at The Oaks at Rossbank in Ellesmere Port.

The dad-of-two, from Birkenhead, said: “I was over the moon to win again this year as it was the first year I was competing in the North West category having previously managed sites in North Wales.

"The award is credit to the hard work and commitment by all involved on site. Our aim is to continue to produce top quality homes for our customers and keep raising the standards and this award shows we are doing both.”

After starting as an assistant site manager with Anwyl seven years ago, Ian was promoted in 2016.

In his five years as a site manager he has won four NHBC Pride in the Job Quality awards, improving each year with a Seal of excellence in his second year and last year winning the Regional Award for the whole of Wales.

He will again go on to compete for a Seal of Excellence in the next stage of the North West competition this year, with winners to be announced in the autumn.

Ian followed in his father’s footsteps into a career in construction, starting as a crane operator before moving into house building.

His favourite part of the job is handing over a handcrafted home to customers.

Phil Dolan, managing director of Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: “We’re extremely proud of Ian and his many awards. Only 450 of 11,000 UK site managers reach the standard required to win an NHBC Quality Award so it’s an incredible achievement in its own right; but for Ian to have won four of these awards in a row really sets him apart.”
