A MAN who failed to attend Chester Crown Court on charges he attacked his victim in the city and had a metal bat on him has been remanded in custody.

Benjamin Coote, 30, of Stratford Road, Blacon, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Monday, July 19.

He pleaded guilty to attacking a man in Blacon Point Road on May 23, causing him actual bodily harm.

He also admitted possessing an offensive weapon, that being a metal bat, on the same day.

Having been released on bail by Chester Magistrates Court on May 31, he then failed to attend Chester Crown Court on June 22.

Coote admitted the third charge of failing to surrender to court bail, when he appeared before Judge Michael Leeming.

The case was adjourned for medical reports to be obtained.

Coote will be sentenced at Chester Crown Court in the week beginning November 15.

Until that time, he has been remanded in custody.
