EMERGENCY services are continuing their search for a missing teenage boy.

At around 3.50pm yesterday (July 19), police received reports that a 16-year-old boy may have fallen into the River Weaver near Frodsham.

Police, fire and ambulance attended the scene and worked into the early hours of the morning to try and locate the teenager.

Emergency services returned to the scene this morning (July 20) and the searches have resumed.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 1041072.

The force said further information will be released when available.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews, along with police and ambulance, attended to the scene to carry out a search using specialist equipment.

"A raft with two members of the swift water team also carried out a search in the water using reach poles.

"The search operation is ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 1041072."
