Wirral's best and worst GP practices, as voted for by patients, have been revealed.

The GP Patient Survey 2021 asked residents for their views on their doctors' surgeries across a range of different areas.

In the main 'overall experience' category, Grove Road Surgery was ranked the highest in the borough, with 100% of patients who completed the survey ranking it as 'good'.

The lowest performing surgery in this key metric was Greasby Group Practice, with 74% of responses ranking the surgery as 'good'.

Wirral's GP practices as a whole received a blended overall experience rating of 86% 'good' - 3% above the national average of 83%, but one percentage point down on the score they received last year.

Other high scoring surgeries include Holmlands Medical Centre, Commonfield Road Surgery and Blackheath Medical Centre, who all managed 97% or above.

Only 12 of Wirral's 47 GP Practices delivered an overall score below the national average - one more than last year.

Another area measured included how easy residents found it to make an appointment at their practice.

71% of Wirral patients described the overall process as 'good' - in line with the national average and the same score that Wirral CCG achieved in last year's survey.

Blackheath Medical Centre and Vittoria Medical Centre high-scored here with 90%, followed by Church Road Medical Centre on 89%.

But only 53% of patients surveyed at the Orchard Surgery considered the appointment experience to be 'good' - the lowest score on the borough.

In Wirral, 17,493 questionnaires were sent out with 6,261 returned completed. This represents a response rate of 36%, which is 5% higher than the previous year.
