A ROAD in Ellesmere Port has been closed in both directions due to a collision which seriously injured a pedestrian.
Police were called to the incident, involving a pedestrian and a white tipper style van, on the A41 Old Chester Road in Great Sutton at 7.40am on Wednesday, July 14.
The pedestrian is believed to have sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to Aintree Hospital.
The driver of the van, a 55-year-old from Ellesmere Port, was unhurt but arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving (cannabis).
The road remains closed at this time while collision investigation work is undertaken.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage which may aid the investigation.
