A NEW social walking group is being set up at the Countess of Chester Country Park.

The aim of the group is to bring people together to enjoy the park and nature whilst also improving their physical and mental wellbeing.

It will be open to everyone and is being led by trained walk leaders who will take the group on a steady walk around the park’s pathways and adjoining canal towpath.

The wellbeing walk will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes with breaks to enjoy the surroundings.

Councillor Louise Gittins, leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “This is the second group to be set up under a new walking initiative coordinated by the Council’s Total Environment team in partnership with The Rambler’s Association.

“The group is organised jointly by volunteers from the Friends of Countess of Chester Country Park and staff from our Total Environment Team.”

Chester and District Standard:

The group will meet at the Friendly Bench (pictured above) at Countess of Chester Country Park every Friday at 1pm starting from July 30.
