DISCOUNT retailer Poundstretcher has confirmed the launch date for its new Ellesmere Port store.

The doors to the new branch at the former Peacocks unit inside The Port Arcades will officially open at 10am on Wednesday, July 14.

To celebrate, customers will be in with a chance of winning £300 worth of vouchers while £200 will be donated to West Cheshire Foodbank.

Poundstretcher is returning to the town having previously occupied the old TJ Hughes premises before closing a few years ago.

Executive chairman Nadir Lalani said: "We are pleased to be opening a brand new store to the people of Ellesmere Port with lots of fantastic branded products, all at bargain prices, and look forward to opening even more stores over the coming months.

"Our team is working hard to deliver an outstanding shopping experience, great service, and an enjoyable retail environment for all our new customers."

Poundstretcher says the grand opening celebrations will run until mid-afternoon with music and giveaways.

New members of staff – both part and full-time – are currently being recruited.

The new store has also been modelled to enhance the shopping experience for all customers, according to Poundstretcher.
