A BUNGALOW on the outskirts of Chester that had been lying empty for 15 years sold well above the asking price at auction.

Gaylyn, Old Lane, Pulford, had a guide price of £185,000, but went under the hammer for a total of £240,000.

The building was constructed in the 1950s.

A spokesman for SDL Auctions said before the sale: "This property comes to the market for the first time and brings with it a fantastic development opportunity.

"Whilst the property itself is in a poor state of repair, it’s sits on a generous plot within a truly idyllic setting, on the outskirts of Pulford.

"Property of this nature rarely comes to the market in the area and the site offers a prime development opportunity (STPC) to both developers or parties looking for their own self-build."

The auction was held online on May 27.
