FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a crash involving two vehicles on the outskirts of Chester.

One fire crew attended the scene of the collision at about 1.30pm yesterday (Saturday, May 22) in Barton Road, Malpas.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters from Malpas attended and on arrival they found the incident involved two vehicles.

"The crew helped to release one casualty who was medically trapped in their vehicle, they were then taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

"Firefighters also set up a hose reel jet as a precautionary measure,

"The crew were detained at the scene for around one hour."
