A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital with very serious injuries after a crash with a car on a main road in Dorset.

Emergency services were called to the A351 between the Blackhill Road roundabout and the Bakers Arms roundabout at 1.27pm on Thursday, May 13.

This was following reports of a collision a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a yellow Honda motorcycle.

Dorset Police said it was reported that the vehicles were travelling in the same direction when they collided with each other.

The motorcycle rider – a man aged in his 50s from Bridport – sustained very serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa was uninjured.

Officers investigating the collision in Holton Heath are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

PC Mark Palmer, of the traffic unit, said: “An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed what happened to please get in touch.

“I am particularly keen to hear from any motorists who were driving along the A351 and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam.”
