Wirral's emergency services were called into action last night after a woman fell into the water off the Wirral coastline.
The incident occurred close to Marine Point in New Brighton at around 10pm in Tuesday evening.
Merseyside Police confirmed that they received a call shortly after with reports that an 18-year-old woman was in the water close to Marine Point, where the town's primary seafront restaurants and attractions are located.
The woman was located in the water by the coastguard at just after 10.30pm and taken to hospital.
New Brighton RNLI Lifeboat, Hoylake RNLI Lifeboat and a coastguard rescue helicopter 936 from Caernarfon were all dispatched as part of the mission but the woman was successfully pulled from the water before the latter two arrived at the scene.
