TWO more Travelodge hotels in Chester have reopened in readiness for welcoming back leisure customers next week.

The budget hotel chain's Chester Central and Chester Warrington Road sites opened their doors today (May 12) for business travellers who are allowed to stay under current Covid-19 restrictions.

On Monday, May 17, lockdown measures will ease meaning leisure customers will once again be able to book overnight hotel visits.

All three Travelodge hotels in Chester are now open, including the city's Central Bridge Street site, along with 14 of the chain's other locations across Cheshire.

Paul Jones, Travelodge district manager for Cheshire, said: “We are very excited to reopen two more hotels in Chester today alongside our 15 other hotels in the region.

"We are hopeful that by reopening our hotels early we can help kick start the local economy.

"We are getting geared up for a busy summer as the Staycation is set to be big this year. Also as we are the nation’s spare room provider, locals will be having lots of family and friends coming to visit this year and we will be hosting them.

"This is great news for the local economy as research shows, Travelodge customers will spend double their room rate with local businesses during their stay which can equate to a multi-million spend."
