A MEMBER of the public uncovered a suspected unexploded ordnance device at a beach in Wirral.
Officers were called around 4.30pm yesterday (Sunday, May 2) after the device was found in West Kirby.
The Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team attended, examined the device and have secured the area.
The device, believed to be a mortar ordnance, was safely removed later that evening.
