TWO fire crews were called out to help free a casualty following a two-car crash in Cheshire.
Firefighters attended the scene of the collision shortly before 5pm yesterday (Saturday, May 1).
A spokesman for the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Shortly before 5pm firefighters were called to reports of a collision on Crewe Road, Winterley.
"Two fire engines from Crewe were dispatched to the scene and on arrival they found there had been a collision between two cars and one person was medically trapped.
"Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to remove the roof of the vehicle, the casualty was then placed onto a longboard and passed to the care of paramedics.
"Crews were detained at the scene for around one hour."
