A 55-YEAR-OLD woman remains in hospital with "serious but not life-threatening injuries" following yesterday's collision on the A55 in Chester.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred shortly after 12.30pm yesterday (April 29).

An air ambulance was scrambled following the collision on the eastbound carriageway between the Posthouse Roundabout and Boughton Heath junctions.

It involved a black Mini Cooper, which was overturned, and a blue Vauxhall Insignia.

The driver of the Mini Cooper was taken to hospital.

Cheshire Police said today: "Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a collision on A55 in Chester.

"Just before 12.40pm officers were called to the A55 Chester Southerly by-pass in Huntingdon following reports of a collision involving a black Mini Cooper and a blue Vauxhall Insignia.

"The driver of the Mini Cooper, a 55-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

"The driver of the Vauxhall Insignia was uninjured during the incident.

"Police are now asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have caught dashcam footage to come forward.
