A LORRY driver's vehicle shed its load, blocking a Cheshire motorway sliproad at rush hour on Monday, April 26.

The incident forced the M56 westbound sliproad, heading off to Frodsham, Runcorn, Widnes and Liverpool Airport, to be closed just before 5pm, the Highways Agency reported.

Cheshire police, North West Motorway Police and the Cheshire Roads Crime Unit were deployed to the scene of the incident, while Highways traffic officers assisted in diverting traffic.

The sliproad was reopened at about 6pm.

North West Motorway Police were unimpressed with the lorry which shed its load.

Reporting the incident on social media, it said: "The truck says 'living the dream' however I don't think the driver is, after reloading all the shed load and then being issued a TOR [traffic offence report] for his efforts."
