A COVID patient has sadly died at the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust.

Latest NHS England figures released on Tuesday, April 13, show the Covid patient died on April 10.

A total of 616 Covid patients have died at the hospital trust since the start of the pandemic.

Another Covid patient's death was recorded on April 10 at the Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals Trust. A total of 481 Covid patients have died at the hospital trust since the start of the pandemic.

In a sign the pandemic is easing, no Covid patient deaths have been recorded at the Mid-Cheshire Hospital Trust since March 17. The trust has recorded 476 Covid deaths.

And the last Covid patient death recorded at the East Cheshire Trust was on March 21. This trust has recorded 328 Covid deaths.

The latest available data for the Countess of Chester Hospital showed the number of Covid patients being treated there was now in single figures, having been as high as 290 back in January, at the peak of the pandemic.
