GB Olympic medallist and world champion gymnast Beth Tweddle is to launch an industry-leading gymnastics programme at Abbey Gate College in Chester – near to where she grew up.

The programme was already delivered to over 3,000 gymnasts every week across the North West pre-Covid, and now youngsters are invited to Abbey Gate College, Saighton, to learn fundamental gymnastics skills, alongside further values such as friendship, courage and determination.

Launching in adherence with Covid-19 restrictions, the lessons will launch from April 19, and are the perfect way for local girls and boys to get back active, have some fun, make new friends and excel in their gymnastics abilities.

Discussing the launch, Beth said: “I’m so excited to see our programme delivered at Abbey Gate College.

“Not only is it a fantastic venue with great facilities for our gymnasts to enjoy, but Chester is where I grew up, so for me it’s even more special to offer local children the opportunity to try gymnastics for themselves.

“It’s really important to us that, above anything else, our lessons are fun and offer a supportive environment for all ages and abilities to get stuck in and hopefully find a new hobby.

“Giving the next generation of children the opportunity to try gymnastics is what I’m most proud of and I really can’t wait to open our doors.”

Beth Tweddle Gymnastics is also giving every child who signs up before April 19 the chance to be entered into a competition where they could win a free Zoom session with Beth for their school. The winner will be announced on Friday, April 23.
