THE GP-led Covid vaccination centre in Ellesmere Port is now shut until April 9.

During this period of closure, doctors will be delivering second doses to care home residents.

One Ellesmere Port Primary Care Network, who are behind the roll-out at the town's Civic Hall, confirmed that clinics will resume on April 9 and 10.

These will be for patients over 80 to receive their second jab.

Comprising the town's six GP practices, One Ellesmere Port Primary Care Network said in its latest update this morning: "Our Coronavirus Vaccination Centre will be open again on Friday 9th April.

"We are giving our fantastic staff a well-deserved break over the Easter Weekend, and our next clinics will be April 9th and 10th as we welcome our patients over 80 back for their second doses.

"In the meantime we will be delivering second doses to our patients in care homes.

"Remember, if you have received a letter for a mass vaccination centre you can book an appointment for Chester Racecourse.

"If it is not appropriate for you to travel to Chester, and you are in JCVI Cohorts 1-9, then please get in touch with your GP Practice after Easter Weekend.

"Thank you for all of your support and lovely feedback (and biscuits) both in person and online."
