A NEW Tesla centre is taking shape in Chester.
Tesla signage and interior lighting has been installed at the former Evans Halshaw Ford car dealership at the junction of Sealand Road and Stadium Way.
The new Tesla service centre will service vehicles made by the electric car manufacturer, which has ridden a storm of popularity in recent years thanks to billionaire businessman Elon Musk.
Eight electric car charging points will also be in place at the site – more than any other site in Chester.
In a successful planning application, Cheshire West and Chester Council head of planning Rob Charnley said: "The local authority has sought to work with the applicant in a positive and proactive way to secure a development that will improve the economic, social and environmental conditions of the area."
At present, the Tesla website lists the Chester service centre as 'coming soon', with vacancies for jobs at the centre being advertised in recent weeks.
