TWO more Covid patient deaths have been recorded by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

NHS England data shows that the deaths sadly occurred on March 1 and 2.

Elsewhere in the county, East Cheshire (2) and Warrington & Halton (1) hospital trusts all recorded additional deaths in the latest one-day reporting period.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

  • Countess of Chester: 601
  • East Cheshire: 320
  • Mid Cheshire: 470
  • Warrington & Halton: 463
  • Total: 1,854

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 184 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 83,917.

Patients were aged between 19 and 98 years old.

All except six (aged 47 to 85 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 19 November 2020 to 3 March 2021, with the majority being on or after 28 February.

Their families have been informed.
