THE Countess of Chester was the only hospital trust in Cheshire not to record any Covid patient deaths in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

NHS England data shows that the trust has not reported any further deaths in three of the last four days.

The last patient death sadly occurred on February 26.

Elsewhere in the county, East Cheshire (2), Mid Cheshire (3) and Warrington & Halton (1) hospital trusts all recorded additional deaths in the latest one-day reporting period.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

Countess of Chester: 599

East Cheshire: 318

Mid Cheshire: 470

Warrington & Halton: 462

Total: 1,849

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 204 people who tested positive for the coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 83,733.

Patients were aged between 32 and 100 years old.

All except 7 (aged 63 to 88 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 2 January to 2 March 2021, with the majority being on or after 27 February.

Their families have been informed.
