NO further Covid patient deaths have been recorded by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust for two days running, according to NHS England data.

The last time the trust reported additional deaths was in Saturday's update when three patient deaths had been registered.

Warrington & Halton (1) was the only Cheshire hospital trust to record a further death in the latest one-day reporting period.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

Countess of Chester: 598

East Cheshire: 316

Mid Cheshire: 467

Warrington & Halton: 459

Total: 1,840

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 127 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 83,250.

Patients were aged between 46 and 99 years-old.

All except one (aged 58 years-old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 9 December 2020 to 28 February 2021, with the majority being on or after 24 February.

Their families have been informed.
