A WOMAN has helped raised more than £1,000 for a cancer support centre by running 50 miles in four weeks.
Leanne Wheeler ran and jogged the distance for Maggie's Centres and was supported by her husband Nick, and daughters Harriet and Eleanor, who are both West Cheshire Athletic Club members.
Leanne said: "Fifty Miles - it wasn’t fast or pretty and I’m definitely built for comfort, not speed.
"But I ran and jogged 50 miles in four weeks. It’s been a challenge but I’ve enjoyed it and I’m so pleased to have raised funds for Maggie’s Centres who continue to support cancer patients and their families during the pandemic. "Thank you to all my friends for the generous sponsorship."
Leanne completed the 50 miles challenge alongside Nick, Harriet and Leanne, pounding the pavements mainly in the dark.
Maggie’s Centres offer the best possible support for free to anyone with cancer and anyone can visit a centre or join the online community.
They help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down, by helping to provide professional support for anything from treatment, side effects, to money worries.
