A PREMISES licence application has been lodged for a new bar in Chester city centre.

Borrasca Ltd is behind the proposal at the vacant Watergate Street property, which has stood empty for a number of years.

The unit had previously traded as a hair salon.

The applicant is proposing the sale of alcohol on the premises from 8am-1am, Sunday to Wednesday, and 8am-2am from Thursday to Saturday.

They also plan to provide late night refreshment between 11pm and 12.30am, Sunday to Wednesday, and from 11pm until 1.30am, Thursday to Saturday.

As part of the premises licence application, Borrasca Ltd is proposing to have live music from 5pm-1am, Monday to Thursday, 5pm-2am on Friday, 1pm-2am on Saturday, and 1pm-1am on Sunday, as well as recorded music from 8am-1am, Sunday to Thursday, and 8am-2am on Friday and Saturday.

On the Companies House website, the business Borrasca Ltd, based at 55 Watergate Street, was incorporated in September last year. The nature of the business is described as public houses and bars.
