A £12.4m project to modernise the appearance and layout of Sutton Way flats in Ellesmere Port will get underway next month.
Work on the redesign of the estate, which includes ten low-rise blocks, will be carried out in three phases and is due to run until November 2023.
Cheshire West and Chester Council, along with its housing partner ForHousing, announced plans for the scheme at the tail end of 2018 before planning permission was granted the following summer.
The work, which is being carried out by Liberty Group, includes the re-modelling of existing buildings as well as some sections being removed and replaced with 16 new two-bedroom houses.
The project will also see extensive refurbishment work on all the blocks, which includes improvements to the external elevations, new doors and windows, landscaping, boundary treatments, secure car parking, CCTV, door entry systems, lighting, improved bin stores and re-decoration of the communal areas.
