SIX more Covid patient deaths have been recorded by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

NHS England data released this afternoon shows that the deaths sadly occurred between February 15 and 17.

It comes after eight further deaths had been recorded by the trust in yesterday's update.

Elsewhere in the county, Mid Cheshire (1) and Warrington & Halton (2) hospital trusts also registered additional deaths.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

  • Countess of Chester: 576
  • East Cheshire: 296
  • Mid Cheshire: 458
  • Warrington & Halton: 441
  • Total: 1,771

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 309 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 80,424.

Patients were aged between 21 and 101 years-old.

All except 11 – aged 42 to 96 years-old – had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 20 December 2020 to 17 February 2021, with the majority being on or after 14 February.

Their families have been informed.
