EIGHT more Covid patient deaths have been recorded by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

NHS England data released this afternoon shows that the deaths sadly occurred between February 13 and 15.

It comes after no further deaths had been recorded by the trust in yesterday's update.

Elsewhere in the county, Warrington and Halton hospital trust also registered three additional deaths.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

  • Countess of Chester: 570
  • East Cheshire: 296
  • Mid Cheshire: 457
  • Warrington and Halton: 439
  • Total: 1,762

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 522 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 80,115.

Patients were aged between 24 and 103 years-old.

All except 20 – aged 33 to 91 years-old – had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 19 April 2020 to 16 February 2021, with the majority being on or after 12 February.

Their families have been informed.
