EIGHT more Covid patient deaths have sadly been recorded in Cheshire hospitals in the latest NHS England daily report (Tuesday, February 16).

The data shows four Covid patient deaths were recorded at Warrington and Halton hospital trust, with one recorded death each on February 9, 12, 14 and 15. In addition, three were recorded at the Mid-Cheshire hospital trust on February 13 and one at East Cheshire on February 7.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

  • Countess of Chester: 562
  • East Cheshire: 296
  • Mid Cheshire: 457
  • Warrington and Halton: 436
  • Total: 1,751

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 474 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 79,593.

Patients were aged between 26 and 99 years old. All except 17 (aged 38 to 93 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 1 April 2020 to 15 February 2021, with the majority being on or after 12 February.

Their families have been informed.
