THIRTEEN more Covid patient deaths have been reported by Cheshire hospitals over the weekend.

NHS England data shows that two of those deaths have been registered by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust.

The trust, which covers both the Chester and Ellesmere Port hospital sites, sadly recorded both deaths in Saturday's update.

No additional deaths have been registered in the latest 24-hour reporting period, which goes up to 4pm yesterday.

Elsewhere in the county, East Cheshire (2), Mid Cheshire (4) and Warrington & Halton (5) hospital trusts have all sadly reported further deaths over the weekend.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

  • Countess of Chester: 557
  • East Cheshire: 295
  • Mid Cheshire: 454
  • Warrington and Halton: 431
  • Total: 1,737

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 301 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 78,889.

Patients were aged between 32 and 102 years old. All except eight (aged 40 to 82 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 1 December 2020 to 13 February 2021, with the majority being on or after 10 February.

Their families have been informed.
