SIXTEEN more Covid patient deaths have been recorded by Cheshire hospitals in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

NHS England data released this afternoon (Thursday, February 11) shows that five of those have been registered by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust.

The deaths sadly occurred between February 4-10.

In total, there were 16 additional deaths registered by Cheshire hospitals in the latest one-day period, compared to eight in yesterday's update.

East Cheshire (4), Mid Cheshire (4) and Warrington & Halton (3) hospital trusts all sadly recorded further deaths in the latest reporting period.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

  • Countess of Chester: 554
  • East Cheshire: 288
  • Mid Cheshire: 448
  • Warrington and Halton: 423
  • Total: 1,713

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 494 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 77,745.

Patients were aged between 27 and 103 years old. All except 22 (aged 51 to 87 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 23 December 2020 to 10 February 2021 with the majority being on or after 6 February.

Their families have been informed.
