SEVEN Covid patient deaths have been recorded by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

NHS England data released this afternoon shows that the deaths sadly occurred between February 7-8.

In total, there were 12 additional deaths registered by Cheshire hospitals in the latest one-day period, compared to eight in yesterday's update.

East Cheshire (3), Mid Cheshire (1) and Warrington & Halton (1) hospital trusts all sadly recorded further deaths in the latest reporting period.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

  • Countess of Chester: 545
  • East Cheshire: 282
  • Mid Cheshire: 443
  • Warrington and Halton: 419
  • Total: 1,689

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 509 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 76,589.

Patients were aged between 27 and 100 years old. All except 23 (aged 45 to 95 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 27 December 2020 to 8 February 2021 with the majority being on or after 4 February.

Their families have been informed.
