TEN Covid patient deaths have been recorded by Cheshire hospitals in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

NHS England data released this afternoon shows that the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust reported five additional deaths for the second day running.

The deaths sadly occurred between February 3 and 4.

In total there were 10 additional deaths registered by Cheshire hospitals in the latest one-day period, compared to 18 and 26 in the previous two daily updates.

East Cheshire (1), Mid Cheshire (3) and Warrington & Halton (1) hospital trusts all sadly recorded further deaths.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

  • Countess of Chester: 528
  • East Cheshire: 273
  • Mid Cheshire: 436
  • Warrington and Halton: 414
  • Total: 1,650

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 537 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 74,786.

Patients were aged between 15 and 100 years old. All except 21 (aged 45 to 98 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 17 December 2020 to 4 February 2021 with the majority being on or after 1 February.

Their families have been informed.
