FIVE Covid patient deaths have been recorded by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust in the latest 24-hour reporting period.
NHS England data released this afternoon shows that the deaths all sadly occurred on February 1.
In total there were 18 additional deaths registered by Cheshire hospital trusts in the latest one-day period, compared to 26 in yesterday's update.
East Cheshire (8), Mid Cheshire (2) and Warrington & Halton (3) hospital trusts all sadly recorded further deaths.
The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:
- Countess of Chester: 523
- East Cheshire: 272
- Mid Cheshire: 433
- Warrington and Halton: 413
- Total: 1,640
The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 630 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 74,249.
Patients were aged between 7 and 102 years-old.
All except 30 – aged 40 to 99 years-old – had known underlying health conditions.
Date of death ranges from January 4 to February 3, with the majority being on or after January 29.
Their families have been informed.

- East of England - 85
- London - 91
- Midlands - 133
- North East & Yorkshire - 74
- North West - 123
- South East - 92
- South West - 32
