TWO more Covid patient deaths have been recorded by the Countess of Chester Hospital Trust in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

NHS England data released this afternoon shows that the deaths sadly occurred on January 27 and January 30.

Elsewhere in the county, Warrington & Halton hospital trust registered an additional three deaths in the latest one-day period.

The total number of Covid-19 patient deaths recorded in Cheshire's hospital trusts since the coronavirus pandemic began is:

  • Countess of Chester: 507
  • East Cheshire: 261
  • Mid Cheshire: 419
  • Warrington and Halton: 401
  • Total: 1,588

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England after testing positive for Covid-19, split by trust.

Across England, a further 356 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 72,145.

Patients were aged between 22 and 103 years-old. All except 20 – aged 50 to 96 years-old – had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 18 May 2020 to 31 January 2021, with the majority being on or after 27 January.

Their families have been informed.
