PLANS to turn disused farm buildings into homes on the outskirts of Chester have been given the green light.

Permission has been granted to convert the redundant barns at Manor Farm in Willington Lane, Tarvin, into five residential properties.

The redevelopment of the buildings will see the creation of a two-bedroom house and four three-bedroom homes, each with its own entrance, parking and private amenity space at the rear.

Planning consent had been granted back in 2018 to convert the barns into two homes, but a fresh application to increase the total to five was submitted on behalf of the applicant Charles Tomkinson, of Rock Farm, Willington, at the end of last year.

Cheshire West and Chester Council rubber stamped the plans on December 1.

No public responses or objections had been made.

In a report recommending approval, subject to conditions, case officer Andrew Cotton said: "The principle of development is appropriate for its location.

"It is considered that the plans show the converted barns respect the character of the area and would provide adequate amenity for existing and future occupiers."
