BLACON crematorium has received high marks following an official inspection.
The Cheshire West and Chester Council-run crematorium was awarded a score of 99%, which is above the national industry average.
An inspector from the Federation of Burials and Cremation Authorities spent a day at the crematorium interviewing staff, checking records and reviewing facilities.
Councillor Karen Shore, deputy leader and cabinet member for environment, highways and strategic transport, said: “Protecting the safety of everyone involved in a funeral service can be challenging during the present circumstances.
"This result is a testament to the hard work of our team at Blacon crematorium and the excellent care and support they provide to bereaved families.
“We would also like to thank all those people who have attended a service at the crematorium for their ongoing co-operation in observing the rules and making it as safe as possible.”
