FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a deliberate fire in an outhouse at a property in Chester.

One fire crew attended the blaze in Lynwood Road, Blacon, at about 7.30am today (Thursday, November 26)

On arrival firefighters discovered that the fire involved a mattress and pallets in an outhouse measuring about three metres by two metes.

The outhouse was made of brick and had a concrete roof.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

They then damped the outhouse down to make it safe.

A thermal imaging camera was used to look for hotspots.

Once they were satisfied that the outhouse was safe firefighters left the scene.

They were in attendance for about an hour.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
