AN ELLESMERE Port slimmer has achieved her dream weight during the coronavirus lockdown.

Amy Davies joined her local Slimming World group in Wolverham, Ellesmere Port last January and, in 16-months of following the new lifestyle, has dropped an incredible seven stone.

In May, Amy was practically shouting about from the roof tops her achievement after she passed her slimming goal.

Amy has learnt how she’ll be able to maintain her incredible weight loss, with handy tips she has picked up through her supportive group that she regularly attends

She switched to the plan’s ‘Slimming from Home’ delivered via Zoom sessions during the height of the coronavirus lockdown. Amy credits this group attendance as key to her maintaining control.

Amy celebrated many non-scale victories during her weight loss journey - including having to get her engagement ring re-sized from a size Z ring to an S.

She also needed to take an essential shopping trip after trying on nine pairs of shorts in the summer and not one pair fit her - not even last year's holiday shorts – as they were all too big!

Amy has won many of her local Group Awards too, picking up Woman of the Year Award in September 2020.

She said: “Never in a million years did I expect to get to target when I joined Slimming World for the millionth time, let alone get Woman of the Year. Roll out the red carpet, I'm stardom bound now!”

She was also delighted to have picked up the Miss Slinky award later in November 2020.

Exercise – coined as Body Magic for Slimming World members - has been an important factor in Amy’s weight loss success including virtual Zumba & Clubbercise classes which she had joined whilst at home in lockdown.

Amy’s determination and focus to achieve her weight loss dreams became stronger with her commitment to regularly attending Group each week.

She faced the good weeks alongside the off-track weeks, both in physical groups and whilst slimming from home during lockdown.

Slimming World offer members awards for every half stone lost and each award she earned would remind Amy of what she had achieved. She says it would spur her on to achieve the next and bring her one step closer to her target.

Chris Robinson, her consultant, said: “I am incredibly proud of Amy, she is a true inspiration to all that never believe they can achieve their target.

“Anybody can achieve their goal weight if you believe in yourself and don’t let anything get in the way of your dreams. I believe that every one of my members are potential target members, you can achieve anything you set your mind on.”

If you would like to focus on you and your weight loss dreams, and would like the help and support from Chris, contact her on 07974 145061 to book a place at the group.

The group is based at Trinity Methodist Church, on Whitby Road in Ellesmere Port, and meet on Tuesday's.
