THREE more Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Trust patients with coronavirus have sadly died, according to the latest NHS England figures.

The latest data published in the 24-hour period to 4pm on Sunday, November 22 showed one patient died on November 19, another on November 20 and the third on November 21.

All four Cheshire hospital trusts recorded coronavirus patient deaths over the weekend.

Warrington and Halton hospital trust recorded three additional deaths, East Cheshire recorded two deaths, with Mid Cheshire recording one patient death.

The Cheshire hospital death toll now stands at 921.

The Countess of Chester Hospital Trust, which covers both the Chester and Ellesmere Port hospital sites, has recorded 266 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 249, East Cheshire NHS Trust 168, and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 239.

The daily NHS England data provides information on deaths of patients who have died in hospitals in England and had either tested positive for Covid-19 or where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
