TWO members of staff at a Halfords store in Chester have tested positive for coronavirus, the company has confirmed.

Both workers are now self-isolating along with a third colleague who is awaiting the results of a Covid-19 test.

Halfords said its Greyhound Retail Park branch was shut for 24 hours in order for a deep clean to take place.

In a statement, the company said: "We can confirm that three colleagues at our Greyhound Park branch in Chester are currently self-isolating, two of whom have tested positive for Covid-19 while the third is waiting for a test result.

"As per official guidelines our store has been shut for 24 hours while a deep clean took place, and those who have been in contact with these colleagues have also been sent home to self-isolate.

"If customers have any concerns and have visited the store affected recently then they should call NHS 111 or visit www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/ for the latest information."

Halfords stores are classed as essential by the Government so are open during the current national lockdown.
