KYLE STORER relishes playing against former club Wrexham and he is expecting another tough battle at Damson Park in tomorrow’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie.

The Solihull midfielder, who had a loan spell at The Racecourse during the 2014-15 season, only came up against the Reds a fortnight ago and helped Moors register a 1-0 win.

Wrexham performed well on the night but missed chances proved costly as James Ball’s second half header sealed victory, and Storer admits Dean Keates’ side were unlucky to leave pointless.

“It was a very tough game,” said Storer.

“We lost the first game of the season and Wrexham won so we were a little bit short of confidence and were missing a few players that would normally start.

“We knew we needed to put a performance together but the result was the main thing and we won 1-0.

“We probably didn’t deserve to win the game, a point would have been a fair result. Wrexham took the game to us, especially the first half, we got the goal and held on.

“Whenever the two teams come up against each other it is always a good battle and I’m sure it will be the same tomorrow.

“It is always a game I look forward to against Wrexham.”

Keates, who saw his side concede the only goal from a set-piece, claimed Wrexham deserved at least a point and Storer added: “It was an honest verdict.

“Wrexham were unlucky but I think 40 per cent of goals in this division come from set-plays and if you switch off for one minute, it will cost you.”

Both teams will be hoping to challenge for promotion this season but the aim tomorrow is reaching the first round of the FA Cup.

“The league is the priority for both teams but the FA Cup brings back memories for myself and also Wrexham,” added Storer.

“I’ve had good runs with Solihull and we have been unlucky. We got to the second round last year and the year before, and should have gone on and done better, the Rotherham defeat still hangs in the memory.”
