A TOTAL of 114 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the latest one-day Government data released at 4pm today (Sunday, October 18).

It means there have been 700 new cases confirmed in the area in the past seven days.

The total number of coronavirus cases recorded in the county now stands at 4,306.

The total number of patients with coronavirus who have died in Cheshire hospitals remains at 757.

The Countess of Chester Hospital Trust has recorded 232 deaths (the last on October 14), Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 217 deaths (the last on October 10); East Cheshire NHS Trust 150 (the last on October 13), and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 158 (the last on October 15).

Across England, a further 61 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 30,971.

Patients were aged between 54 and 96 years old. All except four (aged 56 to 92) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from October 4-17. Their families have been informed.

The number of deaths of patients with Covid-19 by region are as follows:

  • East of England - 2
  • London - 4
  • Midlands - 14
  • North East & Yorkshire - 12
  • North West - 24
  • South East - 5

Notably, 19 of the 61 deaths recorded were from the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
