THE Countess of Chester Hospital Trust has recorded another death of a patient testing positive for coronavirus.

NHS England data released this afternoon shows that the death sadly occurred on October 6.

It comes after the trust, which covers both the Chester and Ellesmere Port hospital sites, registered a death on October 1 – the first to occur since July.

The Countess of Chester Hospital Trust has now recorded a total of 229 deaths.

Warrington and Halton hospital trust reported three further deaths in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

The total number of people who have died in Cheshire hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus stands at 740.

The Countess of Chester Hospital Trust has recorded 229 deaths (the last on October 6), Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recorded 214 deaths, (the last on August 31); East Cheshire NHS Trust 147 (the last on September 30), and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust 149 (the last on October 7).

Across England, a further 43 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 30,323.

Patients were aged between 32 and 99 years-old. All but one person, aged 71, had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from August 10 to October 7, with the majority on or after October 6.
